WHY WE GIVE BACK

We believe that giving back is an important part of life. It is a core of who we are as individuals and was integral to us that it is included in our business. Every little bit helps, and we want to do our little part!

HOW WE HELP

We donate at least 1% of our profits to a variety of organizations to give back to the community. We also plant a tree for every order placed to offset some of the carbon footprint that comes with shipping.

WHO WE SUPPORT

We use a set of guidelines to determine which organizations best fit our values and beliefs.

Must benefit women and or girls
Low administration margin (below 8%)
Must be a registered charity organization
Must meet a minimum of one of our core values (for example supporting fair trade workers, sustainability, the environment)

Organizations we support

Daily Bread Food Bank (Part of our Covid-19 efforts) - During the Covid-19 pandemic not only were grocery stores running out of food but food banks were as well and then there was the added strain of additional people losing income and requiring their assistance.

Trees.org - For each order placed we plant a tree. This is to help offset some of the carbon footprint that comes with shipping

Breast Cancer Society of Canada - This was an important cause for us to donate to for our first year of business as our grandmother Georgette (LΛNCE) bravely fought breast cancer

Alzheimer’s Society of Canada - We also wanted to support Alzheimer’s as our grandmother Shirley (SΛM) battled Alzheimer’s for the latter portion of her life.

Loveland Foundation - This organization's resources and initiatives are collaborative and prioritize opportunity, access, validation, and healing for Black women and girls. We find it easy to talk about and stand behind injustices in sustainability and women empowerment, but it’s ‘uncomfortable’ for us to talk about the injustices that are happening in the world right now. But us being ‘scared’ to show up or say something wrong, is nothing compared to what the BIPOC community is scared of.⠀

We don’t have the answers. We don’t even have the resources. But we’re showing up. We’re here to learn, AND to unlearn. ⠀
